Steel Rose

Well, with a week left at the end of the semester, I had time for one more project. And since I'd wanted to do this all semester long anyway... I decided to make a rose!

So, here is the finished product... Images aren't that good, since I didn't have any way to get good lighting. The rose looks so dark, partially because of bad lighting. And partially because I didn't polish the dark stuff off the metal before I forged and shaped it. So once all the petals were in place, there was no way to polish the insides. And thus, they remained dark. *le sigh*

And the annoying part is that I know how I could have prevented it... it just didn't occur to me till about 15min ago. And by then, the rose was done. X(

The overall rose though, is still pretty. it doesn't look nearly so dark, when you see it in person. And what you can't really see in the pics, is that I used the torch to put rainbow coloring all over the petals, and on the leaves. You can kinda see it on the leaves... but not really the petals.

It's one of those things you'll have to see in person to get the full impact. lol
