Wisdom Bank

Wisdom is one of lifes greatest treasure, and one that is often hard to find.

It can be taught while out serving others and your God.

It can be honed in the halls of education.

It can free your mind as you take time to enjoy your life and see new things.

Its seeds can be planted as you make those first big decisions to buy cars, rent apartments, or ask that cute boy/girl out.

And it can be forced into us as tragedy strikes, or our own foolishness gets us into trouble.

Whatever means you use to pursue wisdom, this handsome little owl will make sure the funds needed to do so are kept safe.

I've been wanting to make a Tea Pot Piggy Bank for a while now. And last night I decided to do just that!

This handsome fellow is indeed made from an old steel kettle. I had to remove the handle and spout, but the lid remains, allowing you to remove money, while a coin slot in the back over the tail lets you deposit.

This sculpture is roughly 12in x 12in x 12in. Made of 18 gauge sheet metal, then colored with an Insta Rust Patina and sealed with a satin finish.

The eyes are washers, and I set a small blue marble in the center of each.

I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. Though let me tell ya... welding on kettles is a bitch. That metal is almost soda-can thin and really easy to burn holes into.
