Report a Policy Violation
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

I took a metal sculpting class this semester in college. This is the first major project I made.
It's a phoenix, made entirely out of steel. The body was made from different segments, which I cut out using a plasma cutter (hence the reason the edges are all wavery. lol), which I then layered and welded together. The ring was a left over from something that I found in storage, and confiscated to make this.  All that colored stuff in the middle, is glass. On the back of the ring, I've got hooks set that hold it in place. This way, if it ever gets broken, or I want a different kind of glass, I can easily switch it out. The coloring was done using heat from a welding torch. And let me tell ya, doing the 2nd wing was a bitch! That's why it doesn't look as pretty as the other one. The whole thing is designed to hang on your wall, though I'm not sure what I'm gonna be able to use that will hold it up! lol Size: The rings is about 17in wide Bird is about 2ft tall The whole thing weighs about 10lbs Time Spent: About 40hrs Daily DeviationGiven 2005-11-05Phoenix Ring by ~Angi-kat caught my attention while browsing Artisan Crafts.
